The "Doohwan" is a two-lobed species with thick fleshy leaves. A mature tree can have leaves that overlap, and its distinctive blue color makes it stand out. It is a relatively new variety of bonsai, discovered in the 1950s on the grounds of a shrine in Kyoto, Japan. This species, which originally appeared as a blue-green two-lobed bonsai in the Boogwi orchid family, gained significant popularity and became a prominent figure during the two-lobed bonsai trend.

During its peak popularity, imitations like "Kirin Hwan" with similar leaf shapes were grown in the shade and disguised as blue chrysanthemum bonsai. However, over time, the number of Doohwan bonsai has increased significantly, and it has become more affordable, making it accessible to bonsai enthusiasts as an entry-level variety. The leaves of Doohwan bonsai are known for their dark persimmon color and a glossy appearance, which is highly valued. The overall shape of the bonsai, including its curvature and attachment, closely resembles a straight line.

Doohwan is a unique and eye-catching bonsai variety, and it has its own distinct characteristics that make it popular among bonsai enthusiasts.

 

 

두환(兜丸)은 잎 살이 두꺼운 두엽종이다. 성숙한 두환은 잎이 겹쳐져 있을 수 있으며, 깔끔한 청축이 눈에 띈다.   1950년대 일본 교토의 신사 경내에서 발견된 비교적 새로운 종류의 분재이다. 부귀란 계에 청축 두엽 종으로는 처음 데뷔한 본 종은, 인기도 높고, 두엽 붐의 선두적 존재였다. 인기가 가장 높았던 시기에는 잎 모양이 비슷한 "기린환"을 그늘에서  키워  청축으로 위장하는등 가짜가 유통되었다. 그러나 시간이 지남에 따라 두환 분재의 수가 크게 증가하고 가격도 저렴해져서 부귀란 애호가들이 입문용 품종으로 접근할 수 있게 되었다. 두환의 잎은 진한 감색과 광택이 나는 외관으로 알려져 있어 높은 평가를 받고 있습니다. 청축청근으로 붙음매는 일자에 가까운 파형이다. 두환은 독특하고 눈길을 끄는  품종으로,  애호가들 사이에서 인기를 끄는 독특한 특성을 가지고 있다.

 

척령

The "Cheolryeong" (鶺鴒) is a large, two-lobed variety of Ama-mi-style Furan (a type of orchid). It has been derived from the "Haehwanghwan" (海皇丸) variety, with the addition of white "Sabokryun" (絲覆輪). This variation occurred when a Japanese cultivator cultivated a single bud among the seedlings. It is highly popular due to its "Sabokryun" (絲覆輪), a two-arts (이예품) feature. It is considered an attractive and outstanding variety. The leaves are thick with white, ear-folding patterns. It is impressive to see the large "Dabokryun" (大覆輪) that comes out of the new leaves of the plant, similar to the "Okcheon" (玉川) variety. The attachment is in the form of a wave from the knee to the root.

 

 

"척령" (鶺鴒)은 아마미 스타일의 대형 두엽 풍란의 두드러진 품종이다. 이것은 "해황환" (海皇丸) 실생에서 비롯되었으며, 두엽에 특이하게 흰색 "사복륜" (絲覆輼)이 추가되는 특징을 가지고 있다. 이 독특한 변이는 일본의 한 배양자가 유묘 중에서 한 포기만  재배하여 얻었다. "사복륜" (絲覆輼)이라는 특징으로 두 예(이예품)와 관련된 특성으로, "척령"은 매력적이고 탁월한 품종으로 여겨진다. 두꺼운 잎에 흰색의 이엽 주름이 장식되어 있으며, 새 잎이 나올 때 "대복륜" (大覆輼)을 생산하는 것이 특징으로, 이것은 "옥천" (玉川) 품종과 유사합니다. 이 품종의 니축에 니근으로 붙음매는 파형이다.
